- Contact the three credit bureaus to place an “Initial Fraud Alert” on your credit report.

Review
- Review a copy of your credit report AnnualCreditReport.com and dispute any errors or unauthorized charges with the credit bureau.
- Close any new accounts you did not open.
- Keep detailed records of your communication with creditors, credit bureaus, etc.

- Report the issue to the Federal Trade Commission and obtain an Identity Theft Affidavit.
- File a complaint on the Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3.gov) if you believe you have fallen victim to a cyber crime.
